Tequesta Coastal Retreat
This contemporary coastal residence in Tequesta, Florida, is defined by its clean lines, crisp white façade, and expansive fenestration, which collectively reinforce a strong indoor-outdoor connection. The structure’s horizontality is accentuated by deep roof overhangs and cantilevered eaves, while large-scale sliding glass doors dissolve the boundary between interior living spaces and the meticulously designed pool terrace.
A central axis draws the eye from the interior through to the water, organizing exterior spaces into a cohesive series of open-air living zones that are both functional and sculptural. The tiered hardscape and integrated dock create a fluid descent from the home to the shoreline, grounding the architecture in its subtropical context.
Inside, the main living area is double-height and framed by custom millwork and precise trim detailing. This vertical expansion is counterbalanced by a mezzanine-level gallery, enclosed in glass, that visually connects upper and lower levels without interrupting light flow. The material palette is subtle and refined—soft neutrals, white oak floors, and brushed metal accents establish a sense of coastal modernity without ornamentation. Built-in shelving systems and a centralized media wall provide both programmatic function and visual balance.
