Knollwood is a great example of how a home can be modernized and renovated without removing the existing structure. Originally a split-level, the home no longer fit the needs of a modern American family. The resulting transformation was a Shingle Style home, rich in detail. The intersecting Dutch gables are the main focus of the front while outdoor spaces abound with the east porch. High ceilings within the interior and on the exterior open the spaces and interconnect the once disjointed plan.
